- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems.
- Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications.
We may remove content, remove you from a game, suspend, or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or for other legitimate reasons. Refunds remain governed by the Match payments section and applicable law.
Participation in sports activities
SportsDock provides a coordination platform. Hosts, organizers, venues, teams, officials, and other participants are independent third parties. They are not SportsDock employees, agents, partners, or representatives. The payment of platform fees or use of the Service does not give SportsDock control over a game, venue, equipment, or the people taking part.
Sports activities involve inherent risks, including collisions, falls, rapid movement, surface or equipment conditions, weather, and the conduct of other people. Those risks can cause injury, including serious injury, disability, property damage, or other loss. You acknowledge these risks and decide for yourself whether you are able to participate.
You must be physically fit to participate, follow the rules of the sport, game, and venue, and use suitable equipment. Before and during participation, you are responsible for checking conditions that you can reasonably observe. If you believe a condition, item of equipment, or situation is unsafe, you must notify the host, official, or venue representative and not participate while the danger remains.
SportsDock does not provide medical care, medical advice, coaching, officiating, safety supervision, or insurance for activities. You are responsible for maintaining the health, disability, liability, or other insurance that is appropriate for you.
Match payments
A host may offer a match as free, pay at the event, or paid online. For online payments, the host is the merchant of record for the match payment and a third-party payment processor handles checkout, account verification, card processing, refunds, disputes, and payouts. SportsDock is not a bank, escrow agent, money transmitter, insurer, tax adviser, or payment guarantor.
The displayed price is the pre-tax match price. When a host has configured Stripe Tax with active Canadian tax registrations, applicable tax is calculated and added at checkout. A host who confirms small-supplier status may accept online payments without tax being added. SportsDock, operated by DockWeb Inc., deducts a 5% platform fee from the host. The payment processor separately deducts its own processing fees and may apply its own account, payout, reserve, dispute, and compliance rules.
The payment processor sends the remaining balance according to the host’s payout schedule and may combine several charges into one bank payout. SportsDock does not promise that funds from a specific match will reach the host’s bank before the match starts or on any exact date. Payouts may be delayed, paused, reversed, or restricted by the processor, a bank, a card network, law, risk review, or a compliance review.
A player who leaves more than one hour before kickoff receives an automatic full refund. Host cancellations, participant removals, and approved host refunds return the player payment and reverse the SportsDock fee when the processor allows it. After the automatic refund cutoff, refunds depend on the host, a cancellation, a removal, a dispute process, or applicable law. The original processing fee and any negative balance may remain the host’s responsibility.
A pickup player or away team whose payment is disputed remains in the match while Stripe reviews the case. If Stripe closes the dispute as lost before kickoff while the match is still active, SportsDock automatically removes the player or away team. A won dispute or closed inquiry does not cause removal. After kickoff, SportsDock does not retroactively change the roster. A removed player or team may return only through the normal flow with a new successful payment.
Before collecting online payments, hosts must either confirm they are a small supplier or configure and maintain active Canadian tax registrations in Stripe Tax. Hosts remain responsible for choosing the correct tax status, taxes, permits, registrations, filings, remittances, receipts outside the processor, chargebacks, disputes, negative payment-account balances, and account restrictions. Hosts must comply with the payment processor’s terms and keep their payment account eligible.
For pay-at-event transactions, SportsDock only records the host’s paid mark and does not process, hold, guarantee, collect, enforce, or refund those funds.
Calendar features
The add to calendar feature is optional. If you use it, SportsDock may send the selected game or match details to your device calendar app, including the title, time, location, notes, and a link back to SportsDock.
Calendar entries are convenience copies. They may not update automatically when a game or match changes in SportsDock, and calendar reminders depend on your device, calendar app, account provider, and settings. You are responsible for checking SportsDock for the current event details before attending.
3. Content and conduct
You retain ownership of content you post, such as profile information or game listings. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the Service. You are solely responsible for your content and your conduct when organizing or participating in games. SportsDock does not guarantee the accuracy of user-generated content or the behaviour of users offline.
You may only post, upload, transmit, or otherwise make available content that you own or that you have all necessary rights, licenses, consents, and permissions to use and share through the Service in each country or region where the Service is available. This includes profile photos, team logos, messages, reviews, and any other text, images, or materials. You must not submit content that infringes another person's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
4. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Your use of the Service and any participation in games or activities arranged through the Service is at your own risk. SportsDock is a coordination platform. We do not organize, supervise, inspect, sanction, insure, or control games, venues, teams, coaches, players, payments outside the app, or offline conduct unless we expressly say otherwise in writing.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SportsDock and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD 100), whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for bodily or moral injury.
6. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SportsDock and its affiliates and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, chargebacks, penalties, taxes, fines, or expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the Service, your content, your conduct, your event, your payment activity, or your violation of these Terms or any law.
7. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described therein.
8. Changes
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the last updated date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
9. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable therein. For questions about these Terms, contact us at support@sportsdock.ca.
